Tidbit Thursday: Character Accents

Tidbit Thursday is a weekly meme hosted by us! It is basically where we tell you all about our book-y habits and experiences...sometimes we might even bring blogging into it...mostly we just discuss what ever book-y thing (maybe stuff floating around the blog-o-sphere) that's on our minds. Lets discuss!

Q:  Accents in books...did you notice them?

On to our post,

It's not too often that I pay much attention to the fact a character has an accent...mostly that is left for the reader to decide...but sometimes it's not. I'm bringing this up because I have heard that for the City of Bones movie that all the Shadowhunters will have British accents. (source: http://www.cityofbonesmovie.com ) Now, I've been thinking on this for a while and Mari and I talked it over and we have come to the conclusion that we are not all too thrilled about it. It's not going to kill us, and I'm sure the movie will be JUST AS AWESOME and Jace will be JUST as Jacealicious (or however you spell that...) but I wish wish wish that they were going to use American accents...since that's what I read the book in. But that's ok. I know the movie is going to be SOOO GOOOD! I am thrilled....how do you guys feel about this? Accents or no accents?
